Common expenses to consider are utility bills such as electricity, gas, and water, which range from £40 to £50 each month. Monthly grocery and housekeeping budgets typically range from £160 to £200. Don’t forget about the TV licence, which is required for TV ownership or viewing BBC online and costs £12.56 per month (£150.50 per year). Mobile phone costs vary but typically range from £15 to £50 monthly. Setting aside approximately £25 for clothing and shoes is sensible. Expect to spend between £10 and £20 on leisure and sporting activities. Allocating £21 for books and stationery prepares you for academic endeavors. Socializing may cost around £120 per month, while travel and transportation expenses, depending on a student bus pass, are approximately £32 per month.
