Cost of Living in Germany

Self-Finance International students must show proof of at least €11,904 per year in a blocked bank account to cover living expenses for each year of study, as required by the German Embassy in Pakistan. This amount may increase if accompanied by a partner or dependents.

Germany Student Visa Requirements

The German Student Visa (National Visa) lets international students live, study, and work part-time in Germany while completing a full-time course at a recognized German university. The requirements for the student visa are as below:

  • Valid passport (6+ months validity, 2 blank pages)

  • University admission letter (Zulassungsbescheid)

  • APS certificate (academic document verification)

  • Proof of financial resources (blocked account: €11,904/year)

The amount of time you spend studying abroad will be determined by the program as well as level of degree you pursue. A doctoral (PhD) program will typically last three to four years.

If your preferred university provides readily available campus housing, you will most likely be able to apply for a spot in one of these student halls. If this is not the case, you will have to locate your own accommodation.
