When Can You Start

Ireland offers two main intakes for international students — Autumn/Fall (September) and Spring (January) each year. Some colleges also offer a Summer (May/June) intake for selected diploma, certificate, and foundation courses.

Cost of Living in the Ireland

Self-Finance International students must show proof of at least €10,000–€12,000 to cover one year of living expenses, in addition to tuition fees listed in their university offer letter. This amount increases if accompanied by a partner or dependents.

Ireland Student Study Permit Requirements

The Irish Study Visa (D-Type) lets international students live, study, and work part-time on campus in Ireland while completing a full-time course at an institution listed on the Interim List of Eligible Programmes (ILEP). The requirements for the student visa are as below.

  • Valid passport

  • English proficiency – IELTS, TOEFL or PTE

  • Proof of funds – €10,000 minimum for one-year living expenses

  • Proof of accommodation

  • Tuition fee payment receipt

  • Academic transcripts/test scores

  • Statement of Purpose (SOP)

  • Mandatory medical insurance
