When Can You Start

The USA offers two main intakes for international students — Fall (August/September) and Spring (January) each year. Some universities also offer a Summer (May/June) intake for selected diploma, certificate, and specialised courses.

Cost of Living in the USA

Self-Finance International students must show proof of at least $15,000–$20,000 to cover one year of living expenses, in addition to tuition fees listed on their Form I-20. This amount increases if accompanied by a partner or dependents.

USA Student Study Permit Requirements

The F-1 Student Visa lets international students live, study, and work part-time on campus in the USA while completing a full-time course at a Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) certified institution. The requirements for the student visa are as below:

  • Valid passport

  • Admission/offer letter

  • Proof of financial support

  • Form I-20

  • Visa fee (MRV) receipt ($185) & SEVIS fee receipt ($350)

  • Academic transcripts/test scores

  • DS-160 confirmation page
